Fukuoka Michio
He completed the Graduate School of Oil Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts and received the Grand Prize at the 1989 Central Museum of Art Oil Painting Awards Exhibition. He has an atelier in Italy (Florence) for three years from 1997, studying classical techniques from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. He creates a majestic world of beauty with a delicate composition of three-dimensional works that make use of materials such as wood using a technique called egg yolk tempera.
