In Korea, Japanese artists who are widely recognized by the general public have traditionally been limited to a few internationally renowned figures such as Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, and Yoshitomo Nara. However, through participating in art fairs in Busan and Seoul, as well as working as a Japanese–Korean interpreter for projects related to Fukuoka City and the Gwangju Biennale over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to learn about and engage with a much broader range of Japanese artists.
Drawing on these experiences, I have actively introduced works by Japanese artists in Korea over the past three years. Moving forward, I hope to continue discovering and supporting talented Japanese artists while introducing the richness and diversity of Japanese art and culture to collectors and art enthusiasts in Korea.
