iP Art Gallery | A Place Where Art and Life Meet Amidst the Mountains and Sea of Taiwan’s East Coast

Founded in June 2010, iP Art Gallery focuses on the exhibition, sale, and collection consultation of contemporary art. It is a commercial gallery that combines professional curation with art consulting. Adhering to the philosophy of “”making the creation and appreciation of art a starting point for mutual inspiration,”” iP hopes to foster dialogue, understanding, and connection between Hualien, Taiwan, and the world through art.

For fifteen years, iP Art Gallery has been deeply rooted and transformed amidst the mountains and sea of Hualien. From its humble beginnings on Linsen Road in 2010, to its expansive presence in the Hualien Cultural and Creative Park in 2014, to its tranquil retreat at Earl’s Hill Villa in 2019, and its expansion into Taipei in 2023 with the establishment of the “” iP Art Gallery _Taipei Gallery”” on Ren’ai Road, Section 4, the Hualien gallery moved to No. 55, Fuxing Street, under the jurisdiction of the Hualien Cultural Bureau in 2024, embracing the purity and simplicity of the space and continuing to respond to the pulse of the land and the times through art.

To date, iP Art Gallery has curated over 160 exhibitions, blending the cultural essence of the mountains and sea of Hualien and Taitung with contemporary expressive language, showcasing the multifaceted vitality of the region and artistic creation. Representative exhibitions include: “”Seven Artists of Hualien”” 2011, “”Traveler Copperplate II”” Lei Xiang Solo Exhibition 2012, “”Han Baode Literati Calligraphy Exhibition”” 2013, and “”Hualien. New York.”” Paris 2014, Liu Kuo-sung’s Fifth Printmaking Exhibition 2014, Liu Chi-wei & Lin Shun-hsiung Joint Exhibition 2015, New Island Panorama: Contemporary Taiwanese Ink Painting 2014, Zhao Hsiu-huan Special Exhibition 2016, etc. Since 2012, Yi-pi has actively pursued an international career, participating in art fairs in South Korea, Cologne, Shanghai, Beijing, and other cities, and exhibiting multiple times at art fairs in Tainan, Taichung, and Taipei, Taiwan. They also assisted the Indigenous Peoples’ Association in organizing the Indigenous Art Exhibition “”The Backyard Garden in the Deep Mountains 2021,”” and the Ministry of Culture’s “”MIT New Talent Recommendation Zone,”” which included Wu Chien-yi (2016), Wang Po-yen (2018), and Wang Yi-ting (2024).

iP Art Gallery _Taipei Gallery inaugural exhibition, “”Mountains and Seas: A Call to the Joint Exhibition”” 2023, brought the beauty of East Coast art to the capital. That same year, they held a solo exhibition, “”Metamorphosis,”” for their founder and mentor, Yeh Chu-sheng, which became his last exhibition before his death. The new Hualien Art Center, themed “”Blooming Flowers, Revival, and Abundant Spring,”” opened in 2024, symbolizing rebirth and return.

From a place with deeper interaction with Hualien, to a place sharing the beauty of the east coast’s mountains and sea in Taipei, the vision is to expand beyond just space, symbolizing an artistic spirit originating from the mountains and is taking broader steps towards the world.
