Artist Cafe Fukuoka
Artist Cafe Fukuoka (ACF) is a hub for the growth and exchange of artists, operated by the City of Fukuoka.
Our mission is not only to provide a place that supports creative activities, but also to connect people and the city, communities and society through art, contributing to the realization of a “society where art circulates.”
The facility, located in a repurposed former junior high school, consists of a variety of spaces that accommodate diverse artistic activities: an open community space where anyone can drop in, studios and galleries for exhibitions and production, and a grand studio suitable for installations and large-scale exhibitions. It also serves as a base for our Artist-in-Residence program, in collaboration with the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, inviting artists from across Japan and around the world.
In addition to hosting exhibitions, workshops, and talk events, ACF offers artist consultation services, information sharing, collaborations with businesses, and opportunities for international expansion — providing comprehensive support to help artists thrive across multiple fields.
At ACF, we believe each artist’s practice should be open to the city, foster encounters with people, and lead to the next act of creation. To sustain this cycle, we will continue to work with a diverse range of people to unlock new possibilities for art.
