Fukuoka Prefecture|Kyu-Kaminoshosho (Former Kaminosho Elementary School) Residency Program
Fukuoka Prefecture’s AIR Program (launched in Fiscal Year 2022) supports ambitious young artists aiming to build robust domestic and international careers. Since 2023, under the banner “Former Kaminosho Elementary School Residency Program,” the project offers strategic support to young artists either residing in or originating from Fukuoka. It provides a concentrated environment for immersive creative development, functioning as a foundational step in their careers. The program is based at the former Kaminosho Elementary School (closed in 2020), located in Miyama City in southern Fukuoka. This setting fosters connections between emerging artists and the local community, and promotes innovative interactions between culture, the arts, and society. For Fiscal Year 2022 participants—Ms. Hanako Miyamoto and Mr. Yugo Korogi—AFAF proudly presents their work in our inaugural exhibition.
