Gallery MORYTA+Gallery Kazuki
The trend of art seems to have changed since last year.
More and more people are seeking the universality and essence of art rather than following trends. The other day, I was very happy to be asked about AFAF by many gallerists and collectors on the art stand. I feel a sense of satisfaction at finally being able to share the internationality of art with expectations for Japan.
The value of art is not determined by the artwork alone. Overseas, I feel more strongly that the power and role of the art market, including the artists and the galleries that support them, is significant.
For example, there is a big gap between the works of new artists, whose prices are only self-reported, and those of artists whose works are sold at domestic and international fairs.
I feel again the importance of an art market that shares international values in order to let people know the history behind the works.
Now in the ninth year since AFAF was established, I hope to meet the expectations of the world by continuing to disseminate art from Fukuoka.
