MIZUMA ART GALLERY
Executive Director Sueo Mizuma opened Mizuma Art Gallery in Tokyo in 1994. Since then the gallery has continuously presented artists from Japan and, increasingly, the surrounding region, whose works possess distinctive sensibilities unaffected by fleeting stylistic trends. Matching the rapid expansion of Asia’s contemporary art market, Mizuma Art Gallery opened additional spaces in Beijing and in Singapore’s Gillman Barracks in 2008 and 2012 respectively. In 2014 the artist residency space “Rumah Kijang Mizuma” opened in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, to support exchanges between local and Japanese artists. The gallery participates actively in international art fairs including Art Basel Hong Kong and the Armory Show, and continues to support and promote a large number of internationally active artists.

Ai Yamaguchi (Japanese, b.1977) is an artist who utilizes a unique combination of delicately drawn lines and celluloid, picture-like expression to vividly portray the lives of young female prostitutes. Her works conjure up a sense of curiosity and amazement within the viewer, due to the depiction of young girls from multiple angles, in a wide variety of poses. As a result, they powerfully embody the sexuality typical of the Edo period, combined with a peculiar brand of eroticism unique to the artist’s hand.
Yamaguchi’s style has also been said to combine “flatness,” regarded as a particularly characteristic feature of traditional Japanese Art, with trends in Japanese subculture.

After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.

Artist Profile
After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.

Ai Yamaguchi (Japanese, b.1977) is an artist who utilizes a unique combination of delicately drawn lines and celluloid, picture-like expression to vividly portray the lives of young female prostitutes. Her works conjure up a sense of curiosity and amazement within the viewer, due to the depiction of young girls from multiple angles, in a wide variety of poses. As a result, they powerfully embody the sexuality typical of the Edo period, combined with a peculiar brand of eroticism unique to the artist’s hand.
Yamaguchi’s style has also been said to combine “flatness,” regarded as a particularly characteristic feature of traditional Japanese Art, with trends in Japanese subculture.

Education:
1995 Entered Joshibi University of Art and Design, Department of Design and Crafts (Concentration in Textile Weaving)
1999 Established the group “ninyu works”
Ai Yamaguchi (Japanese, b.1977) is an artist who utilizes a unique combination of delicately drawn lines and celluloid, picture-like expression to vividly portray the lives of young female prostitutes. Her works conjure up a sense of curiosity and amazement within the viewer, due to the depiction of young girls from multiple angles, in a wide variety of poses. As a result, they powerfully embody the sexuality typical of the Edo period, combined with a peculiar brand of eroticism unique to the artist’s hand.
Yamaguchi’s style has also been said to combine “flatness,” regarded as a particularly characteristic feature of traditional Japanese Art, with trends in Japanese subculture.

After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.

Artist Profile
After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.

After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.

After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.

Artist Profile
After his graduation from Fashion Design Master Course of ISTITUTO MARANGONI London.
Afterward he worked as a fashion designer at the Japanese most famous fashion brand “TAKEO KIKUCHI”.
He left company in 2016 and resumed his own activities as the “Artist” yutaokuda.
Using delicate lines and
blots, he draws the beauty of natural providence, such as food chains with flowers and creatures as motifs. Sometimes he draws both conflicting aspects such as life and death, beauty and spear
using techniques such as painting.He energetically hold solo exhibition and group exhibition, and also publishing many collaborated work with the fashion brands internationally.
